Application for Key Worker Child Care, w/c Monday 15th June

Our intention is to run care to the end of June although we may need to stop on Friday 26th June to allow teaching staff to organise classwork books for return to children, collate reports and sort their rooms. 

Hopefully we will have enough classroom assistants to enable us to provide something on 29th & 30th June but this will be confirmed closer to the time. 

We won’t be able to provide care during July. There isn’t any clarity regarding this as yet from the department or unions as yet and in the absence of this I have to make a call to give you advance notice. I’m sure you will understand that I and all our staff need to take a break. 

As things sit it looks like children will be returning earlier in August, dates have been discussed in the press but are still to be confirmed. How this will impact on the  care we can provide in August remains to be seen. Once the teaching staff are back, under normal circumstances this is a week before the children normally return, it will severely curtail the number of people we have available for our rota. 

The only thing I know for certain is that there will be a lot of water that goes under the bridge between today and the end of July. We will see where we are at the end of July and make plans accordingly.
