Coronavirus Update

There has been a lot of speculation and queries over the last 24 hours regarding coronavirus, exacerbated by the announcement in the Republic of Ireland this afternoon regarding the closure of organisations including schools.

In light of the rapidly changing situation in Northern Ireland, the UK and Ireland, consideration has been given to contingency measures to be taken in a number of different scenarios.

School will continue to follow advice published by the Department of Education (DENI) and the Public Health Agency (PHA). Currently, schools are advised to adopt a ‘business as usual approach’; however, as this is a developing situation, updated information will be checked on a regular basis at https://www.publichealth.hscni.net/news/covid-19-coronavirus

At time of writing there is no new information to communicate and school will be open as normal on Friday. We will hear through the same channels and at the same time as members of the wider school population should the situation change.

In the event of school closures being instructed by the Department of Education, information will be communicated to parents via our app, website, social media and text message asap.
