Dinosaur Topic

This week P2 celebrated the end of our dinosaur topic with a Palaeontology Day. Over the past 6 weeks, we have learnt a lot about dinosaurs. We made lovely junk art models, our own salt dough fossils, pasta pictures and paper plate dinosaurs. We also carried out some experiments of melting ice eggs and erupting volcanoes. We even excavated a cookie! Our resident fossil expert (Cillian P4) and his glamorous assistant Ms Skimmin (a trained archaeologist) visited us and showed us some of the tools that a palaeontologist uses and a lovely collection of fossils that Cillian had brought from home - including a mosasaur tooth!
