End of Term News
Dates for Next Term
On the back of this newsletter you will find all the important dates for January until Easter. Many of you have commented positively on our new interactive newsletter but also how useful it is to have something to put on the fridge with important dates. Hopefully this will be of some use and we will send something similar out just before Easter.
Final Day
Tomorrow, Thursday 21st December is the last day of term. School will finish at 12pm and breakfast club, break or lunch will NOT be available. It is a non-uniform day for all children including those singing at Tesco who we would encourage to wear Christmas jumpers.
There will be no Education Authority transport on Thursday 21st December. Parents will need to make arrangements for pupils to therefore make their own way to and from school.
PTA Events
Thank-you to all that supported the PTA events over the last few weeks. At the Christmas Fair over £2000 was raised whilst raffles at the Nativity and Christmas Service raised almost £450. The bag pack takes place tomorrow in Tesco and if you can lend a hand please come along between 9.30am and 5pm.
Competition Winners
Congratulations to Amelia Magowan and Ben Hoy who finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the Ards & North Down Borough Council design a Christmas tree competition. They received their prizes on Monday morning in the town hall and photos can be seen on our website and online newsletter.
Open Afternoon
We have an Open Afternoon for prospective P1 pupils on Friday 5th January from 1.30pm. All pupils in P1 and P2 mainstream classes will finish at 1pm that day and dinners will be provided. Pupils in the Speech and Social Communication classes will finish at 1pm also.
Application forms can be accepted for P1 and for Chuckles pre-school right up until Wednesday 10th January @12pm.
Thank-You
Can I just put on record a massive thank-you to all the teaching and non-teaching staff for all their efforts throughout 2017 and especially over the last few weeks. We have had Open Night, the Christmas Fair, events in the shopping centre and Tesco as well as rehearsals for the Nativity and Christmas Service in the last three weeks on top of the normal day-to-day teaching. We have a truly dedicated and committed staff and I know you will all join with me in wishing them a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
