P4 Ice Experiment

To back up their learning of the Titanic the P4 children worked with ice this week. They discovered that water freezes to the same shape as its container and water expands as it freezes. To FEEL what the ocean was like for some unfortunate Titanic passengers the children put their hands in ice cold water for one minute. They then timed themselves building a Lego model. We discovered our fingers didn't work too well! We re-timed ourselves building the same Lego model the following day and the times were much quicker! A lot of practical learning this week and very enjoyable!
