Primary 6 Visit Bangor Heritage Centre

3rd May 2017

On Thursday 27th April, Primary 6 enjoyed a wonderful Viking experience at Bangor Heritage Centre.  We had a tour of the centre and learned a lot about what Bangor was like in Viking Times.  We were able to see many artefacts such as the Bangor Bell and Viking Brooches that were found on Ballyholme Beach.  We enjoyed being frightened by a fully dressed Viking who jumped out on us before going into the longhouse to learn even more about Viking life.  We had the opportunity to dress up as Vikings and handle Viking artefacts such as bone drinking horns and tools for weaving.  Each child created a fantastic Viking brooch out of clay to bring back to school to paint.  We had a great time and our thanks go to Heather and her team at the Heritage Centre for another super trip.
