This week's newsletter is now online. Good morning I'm presenting at a conference this afternoon in Antrim so the newsletter is a bit earlier this week, so early in fact most of the news hasn't been added yet. I'll share again on Monday but in the mean time, have a great weekend. https://sway.cloud.microsoft/mmJiZ66SIWauIGkq?ref=Link

Procedures should somebody become symptomatic whilst in school

20th Aug 2020

This is a scenario that we hope will not arise but one that we must plan for to ensure the safety of all our pupils and staff.

The guidance that was issued last week by the Department of Education is very complex so the attached flowchart will detail the procedures we will be following in school.

The part that will present the most discussion is the timing regarding when parents of children in a class with a suspected case will be notified. As detailed in the guidance, parents and staff will NOT be informed that someone from the year group is being tested as this may only be precautionary, but this decision will be made on a case by case basis.

Until a suspected case has been confirmed by a positive test result which has been communicated to school we are unable to notify parents.

This part of the procedure reinforces the need to maintain protective bubble within our school and for our children, families and staff to adhere to our guidelines.
