P4 Visit HMS Caroline

22nd Mar 2019

Some of our P4 pupils recently visited HMS Caroline in Belfast. We had a fantastic time learning about what life was like in the Navy during WW1. After crossing the gangway the children visited the captain, officers and crew quarters. We all realised we would definitely like to live like the captain with his own kitchen, bathroom and pantry! We watched a movie all about the Battle of Jutland and the screen was so large we felt like we were being torpedoed! It was very realistic. Thank you to Emilia from the HMS Caroline exhibition who invited us on this visit. It was really enjoyable and educational. We will follow-up this visit with some fun activities during class.
